Bethesda Project thanks The Phillies and other holiday donors

Holiday giving at Bethesda Project includes a visit from the Phillies

Bethesda Project had a very happy holiday season thanks to the support of dozens of individuals, businesses, and faith-based and other groups.

Bethesda Project's Community Life department continued its tradition of providing every housing resident and shelter guest with two holiday gifts.  Community Life Director Tony Medwid estimates the department collected over 1,500 gifts from various donors, many tailored to the specific requests of each resident.

"People are reminded that they are special," said Tony.

In December, the Philadelphia Phillies' front office staff paid their annual visit to Our Brothers' Place, Bethesda Project's shelter for men.  They served a meal and presented the organization with a $5,000 check.

“The Phillies are delighted to participate in preparing and serving an annual holiday meal at Our Brothers’ Place. Our ball club and employees are proud to support Bethesda Project which is doing good work in the community, not just on holidays, but 365 days of the year," said Phillies President David Montgomery.

Our Brothers' Place provides emergency shelter and supportive services, including referrals to housing and treatment programs, to 200 men each night.
