Gala & Auction
Each year, Bethesda Project organizes a fundraiser event to support our work with Philadelphia's homeless and formerly homeless adults.
On April 30th, 2013, we hosted our 16th Annual Gala & Auction at the Diamond Club at Citizens Bank Park with the kind support of the Philadelphia Phillies and raised nearly $250,000! Our Honorary Chair, Dan Hilferty, President and CEO of Independence Blue Cross, was joined by Flyers legend Bernie Parent and SNL Alum Joe Piscopo, along with hundreds of Bethesda Project supporters for an evening of auctions, raffle prizes, and great celebration!
Highlights of the evening included our exciting live auction, a special appearance by the Phillie Fanatic, and remarks by Mr. Hilferty and Bethesda Project’s Executive Director and Founder, Fr. Domenic Rossi. The surprise entertainment of the night was a showcase of songs by Joe Piscopo, sung in the voice Frank Sinatra!
Live auction winners left the event with original artwork from artist Leroy Neiman, a vacation package in St. Kitts, a helicopter ride over Philadelphia, an on-field experience at a Phillies game, a boating trip with Bernie Parent, the opportunity to learn Fr. Domenic’s secret family ravioli recipe, and more. Among our dozens of silent auction items also generously donated by supporters were front row tickets to a Beach Boys concert, a 24-karat gold leather Phillies baseball, wine from a private cellar, David Yurman jewelry, tickets to the Opera, a brand new Weber grill, getaway packages, and much more.
We thank the many sponsors and attendees who helped make this event an incredible success!
