Bethesda Project
hit another “grand slam” at its 11th annual Auction & Party. More than 325
guests attended this year’s event at Citizens Bank Park, with the Philadelphia
Phillies as our lead sponsor and more than 50 other corporations and individuals
sponsoring, too. We raised more than $151,000 for our annual operating fund,
thanks to lively bidding during the Silent and Live Auctions, our best-ever “Go
Fish!” contest, and donations from friends of Bethesda who could not attend.
This year’s Golden Ticket winner chose the Week in Williamsburg, VA live auction
gift as his prize. The hottest live bidding was for the rock ‘n roll dance party
with live band, food and beer. Honorary Chairman Patrick B. Gillespie received
the Bethesda Medal from Angelo Sgro, Executive Director. Live jazz was performed
by an ensemble from Girard Academic Music Program, an outstanding Philadelphia
magnet school.
