It was "out of the park!" as the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies sponsored Bethesda Project’s 12th annual Auction & Party in the Diamond Club at Citizens Bank Park. This year’s event attracted 320 guests and 63 corporate and individual sponsors! We raised more than $141,000 for our annual operating fund, thanks to lively bidding during the Silent and Live Auctions, raffles, and donations from our many friends who could not attend. The hottest live auction items included a Phillies Outing for Four with David Montgomery, President of the Phillies and this year’s Honorary Auction & Party Chairman; a 20-person Phillies Fireworks Game Package; and a “One-of-a-Kind Tribute to our Beloved Harry K,” a drawing by Signe Wilkinson, Pulitzer Prize-winning, editorial cartoonist of the Philadelphia Daily News. This year’s Golden Ticket winner chose the Wilkinson tribute to Harry Kalas.

Music, provided again this year by the Girard Academy Music Program Jazz Ensemble, was a lively accompaniment to bids for Tiffany diamonds, vacation getaways, and more. Executive Director Angelo Sgro presented David Montgomery with an over-sized baseball autographed by Bethesda Project guests, residents and staff as a thank you for his ongoing generous support.
