Brothers' Keeper takes an innovative approach to an untapped source of housing: affordable rooms and apartments owned by members of African-American churches. We match men currently residing in our shelters or SRO facilities to these rooms or apartments. The men get case management and follow-up support for their efforts to maintain their employment, manage their mental illnesses and remain drug- or alcohol-free. Landlords provide some degree of support to their Brothers’ Keeper tenants, and their churches offer programs to support the men.
