RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT:  Harry

Harry was sleeping on a grate in Center City over ten years ago when some young men doused his blankets in kerosene and set him on fire. He sustained serious burns to his feet and legs, ultimately losing half of one foot and all the toes on the other.

In and out of hospitals, Harry has been unable to give up his addiction to alcohol. His wounds are still fresh and require new dressings every day, but his alcoholism has prevented him from making those routine appointments.

Despite his medical and addiction problems, Harry always has a smile and a "How’ve you been?" In today’s busy world, many would have fallen out of the race long ago faced with the problems Harry has encountered.

When asked how he maintains his strength to keep going on, he replies with a smile, "Someone didn’t wake up this morning, but I did. I am one of the luckiest people in the world and I know God will take care of me."

Harry succeeded.
